BizFlow®, HandySoft’s BPM and workflow solution, has been selected by the Australian division of the QBE Insurance Group to manage its workers’ compensation insurance processes.
QBE provides 150,000 organizations with workers’ compensation insurance throughout Australia. QBE is working with HandySoft to implement a workflow process-driven claims management solution using BizFlow. The implementation is expected to improve customer service while lowering operational costs by 10 percent.
QBE processes 28,000 new workers’ compensation claims every year in Australia. “Critical time in attending to an injured worker is often lost or delayed using a manual claims process,” Colin Fagen, general manager at QBE Workers’ Compensation, said. “With the BizFlow innovations in place, the bulk of straight-through processing will be automated. Staff will then be able to focus on the quality of claims management and help injured workers return to work more quickly. This is expected to decrease claim processing time and reduce claims costs by up to seven percent.”
When fully implemented, BizFlow will support the entire Worker’s Compensation process, from underwriting and claim submission to the final disposition. As part of this process, BizFlow automatically assigns cases based on a pre-defined set of business rules, and it integrates information, such as case data and stakeholder details, from multiple backend systems.
