The CPCU Society has issued the following announcement describing its “Back to Basics” reinsurance symposium scheduled to be held in Philadelphia on May 13.
WHAT: The CPCU Society’s Reinsurance Section will present a one-and-one-half-day symposium, “Back to Basics,” a comprehensive look at strategies for maintaining the “basics” of reinsurance—disciplined underwriting, sound actuarial analysis, and quality claims handling—while achieving ongoing underwriting profits. Open to both CPCU Society members and nonmembers, the symposium will begin with a panel discussion, “View from the Top,” with top reinsurance industry executives. Following the panel discussion will be presentations on catastrophe modeling, coverage issues, claims, security issues, and reserving. In addition, recent completers of the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) program will be honored at a luncheon during the symposium.
