The Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC), a developer of integrated disability management strategies in all disability and absence related employer programs, announced the Management Series of Integrated Disability.
The Management Series, led by integrated disability management expert and DMEC Executive Director Terri Rhodes, will be held in cities across the United States in 2005 and 2006.
“Now more than ever, disability management practitioners need useful
instruction that is immediately transferable to the workplace to lower costs and improve outcomes,” said Rhodes. “The Management Series of Integrated Disability Management provides just that kind of focused information for disability management, claims management, human resource, workers’ comp and every other professional involved in this discipline.”
The Management Series is designed to provide an interactive learning
environment in which participants share best practices and gain new insights.
During 2005, each half-day event will feature one of three sessions:
Session A: Absence Management: “Beyond Injury and Illness Management.” In this session, participants will learn how absence affects the bottom line; work with case studies to discuss how absence affects productivity; and obtain key information from DMEC’s Incidental Absence Survey, a comprehensive data set and analysis of incidental absence among leading employers. Select sessions will be sponsored by UnumProvident.
Session B: Behavioral Management: “Exploring the Psychological Component of Physical Claims.” In this session, participants will learn about the latest insights into this increasingly important area and will obtain strategies and resources to understand the behavioral dimension to better manage human capital. Select sessions will be sponsored by United Behavioral Health.
Session C: Compiling Statistics for Management: “Making the Financial Case.” In this session, participants will learn how to determine what metrics should be benchmarked and will receive the most recent information from Employer Measures of Productivity Absence Quality.
