Police say an Erie, Pennsylvania woman falsely claimed her jewelry, car, tools and hair extensions were stolen from her home.
Police say 42-year-old Patricia Caffro reported more than 350 items were taken in March by someone who forced open the back door. Police say they found no evidence of a break-in.
Police say Caffro called her insurance agent a day earlier inquiring about more coverage for her jewelry.
Caffro told police the stolen items were worth more than $50,000.
Police on Thursday charged Caffro with submitting a false insurance claim with intent to defraud, attempted theft of deception and making a false report.
Caffro says she didn’t do anything wrong and told police who she believes stole from her.
