New York fraud investigators have arrested a Pennsylvania woman for grand larceny, after she allegedly collected $10,700 in workers’ compensation benefits while employed at a hotel in Corning, New York.
Joanne Lee Wilber, 50, of 14-B Mechanics St., was arrested on Thursday and placed in Steuben County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail pending a hearing.
Wilber was employed at the Stay Bridge Suites while accepting the workers’ compensation benefits between March 2007 and April 2008 for a 2001 injury that she claimed left her unable to work.
If convicted, she faces up to seven years in prison.
