The Maryland Fire Marshal’s office says a blaze that destroyed a vacant Eastern Shore lumber yard was deliberately set.
The fire, which was reported about 4:45 a.m. Saturday, destroyed a large two-story building that once housed the Church Hill Lumber Company in Queen Anne’s County.
No one was hurt in the fire that took more than 80 firefighters an hour and a half to bring under control. Roads in the area were closed for much of the day because of the investigation and clean up.
