New York fire officials say two people have been injured in an explosion that badly damaged a two-story home in the Flushing section of Queens.
A Fire Department spokesman says one person was hospitalized with non-life threatening burns and the other person suffered only minor injuries in the blast, which happened just before 7:30 p.m. Monday. Their names were not immediately known.
Fire officials say a man who was living in the home was bleeding propane from a tank and that may have caused the explosion.
About 110 firefighters and 25 units responded to the fire.
A spokesman for New York City Housing Preservation and Development says a demolition crew has been sent to the site to demolish the home at 32-35 Leavitt St.
