Fire trucks and sheep are the latest things to be endangered by roofs sagging or collapsing beneath heavy snows in one western Pennsylvania county.
The Amwell Township Volunteer Fire Department on Monday had to move $1 million worth of trucks and other equipment out of its Washington County firehouse where the roof is sagging. Construction crews are hoping to save the roof while two other departments store the equipment.
In nearby Fallowfield Township, firefighters were able to save all but one of 11 sheep in a one-story barn that collapsed Monday afternoon.
The wood-frame building had a sheet metal roof that was lifted by hydraulic rescue trucks to save the sheep.
