Fall River fire officials say they are interviewing a “person of interest” in connection with a series of arson fires at city mills over the weekend.
Deputy Chief William Silvia tells The Herald News that four fires were reported within an hour of each other on Saturday night.
He says the first call for a fire at the former Cardi’s Furniture mill came in at 8 a.m.
The fire was contained by the building’s sprinkler system. The other fires were at the Tower Mill Outlet, Wampanoag Mill and Flint Mill.
There were no reports of injuries or serious property damage. There were no arrests.
Silvia said it is unclear yet whether Saturday’s fires are connected to an arson fire at the former Parker’s Candy mill a week ago.
