Authorities say they’ve questioned several juveniles after a suspected arson fire destroyed a nearly century-old abandoned furniture factory and a neighboring business in western New York.
Officials say Monday no one has been charged yet in connection with Friday’s massive blaze at the former Fancher Furniture Co. factory in Salamanca, 50 miles south of Buffalo.
A Salamanca police officer discovered the fire around 5:30 p.m.
The fire spread to the adjacent Luminite Corp., a manufacturer of laser-engraved wallpaper rolls.
Scores of firefighters battled the blaze, with five suffering minor injuries.
The Fancher factory opened in 1911 and at one time employed hundreds of people.
Police say they’ve questioned five juveniles, ages 12 and 13, but haven’t charged any of them.
