Powerful storms that swept through the Mid-Atlantic region earlier this week, damaged at least 100 homes and left thousands without power.
As of yesterday, Baltimore Gas & Electric reported about 12,550 customers were without power, mostly in Baltimore city, and Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties.
Dominion Power said about 2,860 customers lacked power in northern Virginia.
And Pepco was reporting about 250 customers were without power, mostly in Washington.
Baltimore County officials say preliminary assessments show that as many as 100 homes in the Parkville area suffered some damage. A shelter for displaced residents has been set up at the Bykota Senior Center in Towson.
In Delaware, Delmarva Power was reporting about 2,170 customers were without power, mostly in New Castle County.
Maryland’s insurance commissioner is offering a list of tips to help those with damaged houses.
