A Vermont man says he was fired by the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction because he complained about safety problems to his bosses and state officials.
Kenneth Darling of Sharon is suing the center.
Darling worked at the center from November 2008 until March 2010, first as a construction supervisor then as an engineer who helped run the facility.
Darling’s attorney says center officials ignored his complaints.
The Valley News says an official with the Vermont Occupational Safety and Health Administration says a routine $700 penalty was levied against the center earlier this year because of an open hole in the floor.
Center officials wouldn’t comment on Darling’s lawsuit.
