The State Fire Marshal’s Office says three fires in Sussex County that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage were deliberately set.
The first fire was reported about 9:10 p.m. Thursday in a Blades home. The house was not occupied at the time of the blaze and no one was hurt. Damage was estimated at $5,000.
The second fire was reported about 3:20 a.m. Friday in a storage building in Delmar. No one was injured; damage was put at $10,000.
A third blaze was reported about 4:40 a.m. Friday in a home in Laurel. Damage was estimated to be $60,000; no one was hurt.
Investigators don’t know if the three fires are linked.
