The driver of a van carrying special needs adults that crashed into a garbage truck near Boston, injuring him and 12 others, has been charged with of driving under the influence of drugs.
Police in Newton, Mass., say 51-year-old Addis Gabriel Woldeguiorguis of Dorchester was arrested following the Monday morning accident.
Police say 12 special needs passengers and their driver were injured in the accident. They say three people in the van, including one who had to be extricated with the Jaws of Life, were seriously injured. No one in the garbage truck was hurt.
It was unclear if Woldeguiorguis had an attorney.
