Virginia has launched a website to assist homeowners, gardeners and others on the safe use of pesticides.
The resource is the work of the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The department created the site after staff in its office of pesticide services concluded a lot of misinformation on pesticides needs correcting.
Commissioner Matt Lohr said the website will be useful to anyone who has applied a pesticide to their lawn to kill weeds or insects. Farmers and groundskeepers can also find value in the Virginia Pesticide Safety website.
Sections of the site are geared to public as well as professionals.
