The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed $123,000 in fines for operators of an upstate New York plant that makes roof insulation panels.
OSHA alleged Friday that Hunter Panels LLC committed 23 serious safety violations at its Kingston plant. The agency said it found deficiencies in the plant’s safety management program for hazardous chemicals. Inspectors also identified a lack of personal protective equipment and accumulation of combustible dust, among other problems.
The company has 15 business days to comply, meet with OSHA’s area director or contest the findings.
Phone messages left at the plant and the company’s headquarters in Maine were not immediately returned.
