FEMA: $2.7B Paid Out in New Jersey Flood Insurance Claims

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says it has made $2.7 billion in flood insurance payments to New Jersey claimants since Superstorm Sandy hit the state last October.

The agency also announced Tuesday that it has approved $367.3 million overall in grants for individuals and households and another $318 million for housing assistance. It also has approved $188 million in public assistance grants to communities and some nonprofit organizations that serve the public

Meanwhile, the Small Business Administration has given out $586 billion in disaster loans to homeowners, renters and businesses affected by Sandy.
