Bermuda-based ACE Financial Solutions International, Ltd. announced the promotion of both Mark Lima and Simon Burton to the position of executive vice president. Both Lima and Burton will continue to report directly to Pierre Samson, president & CEO of ACE FSI.
Lima joined ACE Bermuda in 1990 as an underwriter in its Excess Liability division. He transferred to ACE’s alternative risk transfer unit, now ACE FSI, in 1997 and was appointed senior vice president in March 2000. He joined ACE from the Sedgwick Group in London where he was responsible for broking aviation, marine and non-marine business at Lloyds and in the London company insurance market, as well as consultancy work in the alternative risk transfer field. Lima began his career in Bermuda with National Underwriters and has over 18 years of experience in the insurance industry.
Burton joined ACE in 1996 as an actuary in ACE FSI. He was promoted to senior vice president in January 2001 with responsibility for the department’s actuarial team. Prior to joining ACE, Burton worked at Tillinghast Towers Perrin in London and Bermuda as a consulting actuary specializing in the development of property catastrophe models for reinsurance portfolios. Burton has 12 years of experience in the reinsurance industry.
ACE Financial Solutions International, Ltd., a subsidiary of ACE Bermuda Insurance Ltd. (ACE Bermuda), operates as an underwriting services company on behalf of ACE Bermuda. ACE FSI provides non-traditional insurance, reinsurance, and risk financing solutions to international companies facing complex risk management issues.
