Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. announced that Hans-Joachim Guenther would join Endurance Worldwide Insurance Limited in London as Chief Underwriting Officer for Reinsurance and Head of Reinsurance for Europe. He has 19 years of experience in the reinsurance market, most recently at Converium AG as CUO-Europe.
William Jewett, CEO of Worldwide Reinsurance, noted Guenther’s “depth of knowledge of the business, experience in different markets, and overall leadership abilities,” which he indicated “make him especially well-suited to continue to build Endurance’s London and Continental portfolios and to manage international growth.”
Guenther previously held a number of senior positions with Gerling. He became CEO of Gerling Global Re in Switzerland in 2001. In 2003 he joined Converium AG as Chief Underwriting Officer, Europe, where he was responsible for underwriting and portfolio management as the head of the international division.
