Loss Recovery Insurance (LRI) specialist Lorega has appointed Paul McNamara as Senior Chartered Loss Adjuster within its recently formed Chartered loss adjusting subsidiary, Lorega Solutions.
McNamara joins Lorega from Aon UK, where he was a claims consultant and associate director. He has more than 30 years’ claims experience, including handling complex losses and disputed claims. Prior to AON, he worked with Davies & Company, RSA and GAB Robins.
Launched in May, Lorega Solutions was “formed to provide the skilled resource required support the increased level of claims handled by the business, said the bulletin. “The additional claims have been generated by increased penetration of LRI both in commercial and personal lines and the move from an add-on product only to being written into insurer’s policy wordings.
McNamara’s appointment is “in addition to the recruitment process taking place for the Lorega Academy, which aims to rise to the challenge faced by an ever increasing age profile among Chartered Loss Adjusters by training new talent in-house,” the bulletin explained.
“The team is currently working with the CII and CILA to develop a suitable training framework that will both introduce graduates to the complexities of the industry and enable them to work towards the CILA examinations and ultimately Chartered status.
“The total number of trainees who are expected to pass through the Lorega Academy is not set in stone as it will reflect the increasing needs of Lorega’s business but the overall aim will be to encourage young people into the profession.
Both Lorega Solutions and the Lorega Academy are led by Angus Tucker, a past President of the CILA. He commented: “As penetration of Lorega’s Loss Recovery Insurance product increases so does the need for more highly skilled loss adjusting professionals to deal with the inevitable claims. Paul’s appointment is therefore very important to us as we gear up to work on behalf of a growing number of broker and policyholder clients while contributing to Lorega’s overall expansion plans.”
