A Red Cross official says a landslide caused by heavy rains in northwest Colombia has killed 14 people and left dozens more missing.
Cesar Uruena says more than 14 homes were buried by the landslide in the city of Manizales in Caldas state, 165 kilometers (102 miles) northwest of the capital, Bogota.
The Red Cross rescue director says searchers have found 14 bodies and believe that about 60 people are missing. Uruena says the missing figure is “somewhat speculative, but the number is very high.”
He said late Saturday that rescuers would keep searching for survivors through the night.
Caldas emergency services director Sandra Lopez said heavy rains pounded the area the night before and caused a part of a mountain to collapse onto the houses.
