Celent, a global research and advisory firm, announced that Jamie Macgregor has been appointed global senior vice president for the firm’s insurance practice.
“We’re delighted to elevate Jamie to this position,” said Celent CEO Craig Weber. “People in the Celent network are already familiar with his talent, and he’s got the right blend of skills to take this well-established group to the next level.”
“I’m thrilled,” said Macgregor. “We have the strongest and most experienced global team in the industry, with a presence across four continents in major insurance markets. Our mission of providing practical insights into solving the business problems for insurers with technology is embedded in our DNA. I look forward to continuing this mission.”
Macgregor also notes that he intends to build upon Celent’s solid research foundation to further promote innovation and the facilitation of sharing good practices across geographies. “Celent is a great place from which to identify trends that lead to innovations in one market, and then assess their applicability to another,” Macgregor says. “We feel that we’ve only just scratched the surface in our research on this topic. Technology continues to drive change. There’s plenty more that we can do to challenge the status quo and help our clients think through the implications of technology-driven innovation from other markets. This is not only exciting; it’s fun to deliver with clients.”
Weber, who has been serving in a dual role as the global senior vice president of insurance and the company’s CEO, hands over the role of global senior vice president to Macgregor. Weber will remain an active contributor to Celent’s research agenda. For North America, Chuck Johnston continues to drive the research agenda for Life and Annuities, and Donald Light continues to drive the research agenda for Property & Casualty.
