Chicago-based CCC Information Services Inc., a supplier of information and technology software and services to the automotive-claims and collision-repair industry, is building on its recycled parts product with the release of RPS Version 2.0.
Insurance customers using RPS Version 2.0 now can manage, through the Internet, their approved recycled parts suppliers and can create operational reports. In addition, insurance companies, repair facilities and independent appraisers can now access a recycled parts database of more than 26 million parts from a nationwide network of 1,900 recycled parts vendors.
“RPS Version 2.0 gives insurance companies, repair facilities, and independent appraisers the ability to quickly access recycled parts from up to 20 different preferred recycled parts vendors that insurance companies have identified. The recycled parts database searches for parts that only belong to the same age vehicle or newer to ensure like, kind and quality,” said Jim Dickens, senior vice president, product management and marketing. “That list can be customized to access up to 20 preferred parts vendors. Moreover, if the appraiser has only selected 3-5 vendors, RPS 2.0 will augment that list with additional insurance company approved vendors to give them a wider range of options.”
The current CCC Pathways user does not need to make any software or hardware changes in order to use RPS Version 2.0, as the integration is automatic.
