Job safety training is the focus of an “OSHA Safety Day” training conference to be held March 16 at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Illinois.
The forum is co-sponsored by the North Aurora area office of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Waubonsee Community College, and the Onsite Consultation Program of the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity.
“This conference is a great opportunity to help small businesses prevent job injuries and protect their workers,” said Michael Connors, OSHA regional administrator in Chicago.
Some 400 employees and managers are expected to attend the event, representing a broad range of industries in Illinois, including manufacturing, hospitals, print shops, trucking and construction. The one-day conference will cover safety issues for transportation, construction, machine safeguarding, safety programs, electrical, and wellness programs.
The program will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at Waubonsee Community College, Sugar Grove Campus, Bodie Hall, Route 47 and Harter Road, in Sugar Grove.
The fee for the conference is $59, which includes handouts, exhibits, and lunch and refreshments. Advance registration is required. For conference information, contact Wynne Swedberg at (630) 906-4120 or online at wswedberg@waubonsee.edu.
