The family of a St. Joseph, Mo., man who died when he was crushed between two vehicles has sued a driver and the company where he worked.
Pamela Griggs and her son, Nathan Griggs, sued Deshon Bros. Inc. and driver Rex C. Deshon, of St. Joseph, for damages in excess of $25,000.
Authorities say Deshon backed his truck into Rory L. Griggs on Nov. 5 in the parking lot at MFA Inc., pinning him between two vehicles.
Court documents claim the accident occurred because Deshon hit the truck’s gas pedal rather than the brake and was not paying attention.
St. Joseph attorney Keith Ferguson says Deshon Bros. Inc. and Rex Deshon, deny being at fault.
