Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster has released a set of recommendations to change the way telemarketing companies sell auto service contracts.
The recommendations come from a task force Koster organized in April. The task force met with customers around the state and with industry officials. Koster’s office has maintained 12 lawsuits against auto service companies in the past year.
In a news release, Koster called for companies that sell the contracts to be licensed under Missouri’s insurance laws.
He also wants customers to have a “free look” period of 20 business days during which they can cancel their contract and request a full refund if they don’t like the contract they bought.
