Officials say arson is the cause of an early morning fire that damaged several rooms in an Ohio University dormitory.
The state fire marshal’s office and university police say no one was hurt in the fire at about 2 a.m. Friday in a common room at the Brough House residence hall on the southeast Ohio campus.
Investigators say the fire was contained to the common area, and that several other rooms were damaged by smoke. Cost of the damage is estimated at about $50,000.
The fire marshal’s office says a reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to those responsible.
No additional details were released.
