Authorities say a man has been found dead at the bottom of a hotel pool in northeast Ohio.
Firefighter-paramedics were called to a Holiday Inn outside Canton Monday night on a report of an apparent drowning in the hotel’s outdoor pool.
Jackson Township police Lt. Ty Bissler says the victim was a 26-year-old native of China who was at the hotel on business with two associates. The man’s name is being withheld until his family has been notified.
The Repository of Canton reports authorities say the man decided to take a swim after returning from dinner.
Bissler says the man was “not an avid swimmer.”
A fire official says paramedics tried to revive the man at the scene and on the way to the hospital.
