Police in suburban Detroit have filed a reckless driving charge against a man who was pulling a hayride wagon when it tipped, sending nine passengers to hospitals.
The accident happened Sunday at Camp Dearborn in Oakland County’s Milford Township, about 30 miles northwest of Detroit.
Milford police Chief Tom Lindberg said Wednesday that his department cited a 28-year-old Highland Township man, who’s expected to voluntarily appear in court within a day or two.
The charge can bring as much as 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.
The Wayne County community of Dearborn owns Camp Dearborn and has suspended the driver without pay.
Police say the driver had a blood-alcohol level of 0.06 percent. In Michigan, the legal limit for a motor vehicle driver is 0.08 percent.
