York Risk Services Group. Inc., a national provider of claims management, managed care and risk management services, announced that Scott Gaffner will assume the position of regional president for the Midwest.
In this role, Gaffner will be responsible for managing York’s long standing partnerships with clients in the Midwest, ensuring customers are receiving the expected quality and service, representing York with local legislatures, and overseeing new business development in the region.
“Although York is the third largest national property/casualty TPA, we recognize that delivering excellent service to our clients requires local knowledge, local presence and local authority,” said Tony Galioto, president and CEO of York. “Our regional president strategy ensures that our customers have a York executive whom they know personally and who can bring the full resources of York to bear in a way that makes sense for that customer and that addresses any local issues that arise.”
Gaffner adds that “In creating the regional president role and having people like myself listening to our customers and understanding how they define value, York continues to expand our ability to deliver proactive, collaborative solutions that help our customers manage their total cost of risk.”
Gaffner will continue to serve as president of CMI, a York Risk Services company. CMI, based in Michigan, became a part of the York Risk Services organization in 2012. The company is a third party administrator in the Midwest, with a focus on Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, and provides workers’ compensation and disability claims and risk management solutions to a wide array of self-insured employers and group programs.
Gaffner joined CMI in 1994 as an Account Manager. In 1999, he was promoted to General Manager and in 2006 became President of CMI.
Gaffner graduated from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., with a Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance and has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations. He is also a licensed Property and Casualty Agent and serves as a member of the board of the Western Insurance Scholarship Foundation.
