A U.S. Coast Guard station that watches over western Lake Erie led the nation in drunken boating arrests last year.
The Coast Guard says officers with Marblehead, Ohio, station charged 67 people with boating under the influence in 2013.
The station patrols the waters along Port Clinton, Sandusky and the Lake Erie islands.
A Coast Guard spokesman says western Lake Erie has a reputation for being a party destination.
He also tells The Port Clinton News-Herald that the area around Marblehead has consistently had the highest rates boating under the influence arrests in the Great Lakes for years.
