Newly released reports show that nearly four dozen people were killed on Nebraska roads in the first three months of this year.
The reports from the Nebraska Department of Roads show 47 people died on Nebraska roads from January through March. That’s one fewer than the 48 killed on Nebraska roads for the same period in 2013.
Department records show that this year, 14 people died on state roads in January; 15 died in February and 18 died in March.
Of the 47 killed, three were pedestrians hit by vehicles. One was a bicyclist hit by a car.
The reports show that of those killed while inside a vehicle, at least 20 were not wearing seat belts.
