Health Management Online, Inc., (HM) of Southington, Conn., and Medata, Inc., of Tustin, Calif., released plans to jointly deliver a new level of efficiency into workers’ compensation bill handling.
By jointly marketing a bundled solution, bills will now be delivered directly from its source at the healthcare provider’s patient billing system into the insurance payers’ bill review electronically.
Bill Chesley, president of HM noted, “The focus today from the market is on costs; reducing timelines for reimbursement, and automating processes wherever possible. Traditional methods, and even simple computerization of manual tasks, are not the answer. The real answer lies with smart technology that can acquire the essential information simply in digital format, clean it and then process it automatically. This is what the Medata and HM relationship provides.”
Paul Easter, Medata’s president added, “Clearly, the industry has been anticipating a solution from their technology partners and this is why this alliance with HM is so exciting. By bridging the chasm between the healthcare provider and the payer electronically we eliminate paper and time allowing the cost and productivity win for everyone. This makes sense to everyone – eliminate the waste and fat without eliminating capability. The enormous appeal to those who will use this capability is the lack of barriers to entry; there is no technology to buy, install, implement or maintain. There is no data migration and no disruption and best of all – no capital investment.”
