IVANS Inc. announced the expansion of its state department of motor vehicle reporting services to include the submission of SR22/26 filings in Arizona and support for South Carolina’s recently announced mandatory automobile liability insurance reporting program.
IVANS completed its first successful SR22/26 implementation in Arizona with Safeway Insurance, using the required X12 data standard format.
“Safeway was already using IVANS software and EDI mailboxing for auto liability insurance reporting in the state of Arizona,” said Donald Bright, mainframe manager, Safeway Insurance. “Adding SR22/26 filings frees us from submitting paper and benefits our insureds since information sent electronically is received faster and more accurately,” continued Bright.
Certain high risk or problem drivers are required by some state financial responsibility (FR) laws to ask their insurers to file an SR22 form (a certification of future proof of financial responsibility) with the state motor vehicle department. An SR26 form cancels the SR22 once future proof is no longer required. Failure to report can result in the driver’s license being suspended. The state of Arizona recently announced the ability to receive SR22/26 filings electronically to improve this process with insurers.
IVANS currently provides Automobile Liability Insurance Reporting (ALIR) solutions to 102 insurers and managing general agents, for more than 20 states.
“With the recent announcement by the state of South Carolina insurers are required to submit using the X12 data format,” according to Janice Sheffield, divisional vice president, IVANS. “Insurers can begin now, but must be in production with South Carolina’s new program by mid-September 2004. We have already begun delivering South Carolina to customers.”
IVANS provides insurers and managing general agents with an end-to-end ALIR solution to report to one or all 20 states, whether the state required data format is X12 or proprietary.
