The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. was recently recognized for its leadership in standards-based communications with six awards presented by ACORD (Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development) at the recent ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum.
“We realized early on that continued success for The Hartford and its agents depends on transmitting information quickly and accurately. By helping to create XML standards for the insurance industry, and incorporating those standards piece by piece into our workflows, we’ve saved time and money for ourselves and our agents. These achievements are helping to push standards use in the industry, and we see these awards as an acknowledgement of that success,” stated Mike Byam, The Hartford’s VP and CIO for Business Insurance, who accepted the awards on behalf of the company.
The Hartford won awards for the “Greatest Impact in Property-Casualty” in the following three classifications:
— Greatest Number of XML Implementations in Property-Casualty
— Greatest Growth in Number of Implementations in Property-Casualty
— Greatest Dollar Volume in Property-Casualty
The company also won three additional honors:
— Business Integration Award
— Early Forms Adopter Award — the first year this award is given out.
— Certification Award for specific ACORD Standards Transaction
“With implementations rising more than 300 percent across lines of business, these awards are becoming more competitive and more prestigious, a true badge of honor within the industry that allow them to stand out from their competitors,” commented Denise Garth, ACORD VP for Membership and Development. “We congratulate The Hartford for continuing its leadership role in developing and using standards-based communication with its business partners.”
