Nationwide announced recently that its associates have contributed $122,600 to the United Way International’s South Asia Response Fund. This contribution will be matched dollar for dollar by the Nationwide Foundation, the company’s charitable arm, for a total contribution of nearly a quarter million dollars.
Nationwide will continue to collect and match associate contributions to the fund, which will help rebuild communities severely impacted by the recent tsunami waves. Nearly 1,000 Nationwide associates have contributed to date.
“We are thrilled to match these contributions,” said Chad Jester, Nationwide’s vice president of Corporate Public Involvement. “Over the course of the past several years our associates have consistently exhibited generosity and compassion. It comes as no surprise to me that we continue the tradition of coming together for people in need.”
The South Asia Response Fund is focused on long-term response and recovery efforts – rebuilding lives, homes, businesses and communities in areas affected by the recent earthquakes and tsunamis.
