Intercare Holdings Insurance Services, a workers’ compensation and liability third party administration and managed care services company, has hired Richard R. Rothman as executive vice president for Business Development. Intercare has offices in California, Washington, Nevada and Texas.
Rothman, formerly a managing director of Cambridge Integrated Services Group Inc., brings nearly three decades of upper management, sales and marketing leadership to his new responsibilities which will include business development, sales force management and strategic marketing analysis. In this capacity he will report directly to George “Mac” McCleary, Intercare’s CEO. McCleary explained that Rothman would be “looking at the scope of our services from both a geography and business perspective and will be involved with me in stewarding the company’s growth both organically and through acquisitions, as appropriate.”
In his nine year tenure at Cambridge, Rothman was responsible for Specialty Divisions including professional and product liability, transportation, reinsurance claims, information technology and the structured settlement for Cambridge Gallaher. He also served the firm as president of its Absence Management Division as well as executive vice president of business development.
From 1997-1999, he was senior vice president of Presidium Inc., where he positioned that company as a national service provider and led the transition and integration of the marketing staff into Cambridge upon the acquisition of Presidium by the then Aon Corp.-owned company.
Rothman began his career in 1981 with Gallagher Basset Services Inc. where over a 16-year period he rose from a loss control representative, to executive vice president of Business Development, and ultimately an Arthur J. Gallagher corporate officer.
