Canal Insurance Company Appoints New Executives to Leadership Team

S.C.-based Canal Insurance Company, a provider of insurance to commercial trucking and specialty transportation insureds, appointed of Tim Horgan, vice president – Transportation and chief marketing officer, and Bob Pace, vice president and chief claims officer, to the executive leadership team.

Horgan assumes profit and loss accountability for all Canal’s trucking and specialty automobile business except the large fleet unit. He will also be responsible for all phases of marketing, agency relations and communication. His past experience includes working in underwriting, marketing and regional management at Continental, followed by nearly twenty years in AIG’s transportation business, the last seven as profit center head.

Pace, as chief claims officer, will provide strategic and operational leadership to all aspects of Canal’s claims organization. He joins Canal after a diverse career, which includes eleven years as a practicing attorney, followed by another twelve years of increasing responsibility in the Travelers claims department, the last six of which as chief claims officer for Northland.
