CSAA Insurance Group Names Hankins Vice President of Claims
CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, has named Cal Hankins as its vice president of claims.
Hankins will oversee all aspects of insurance claims, including strategic planning and site management. He will lead a team of nearly 1,600 claims professionals located in four regional claims-operations centers across the country. He will be based in CSAA Insurance Group’s Oklahoma City offices and report to Bob Valliere, executive vice president of insurance operations.
Hankins most recently served as claims executive for CSAA Insurance Group, and brings 22 years of insurance industry experience to the role. His broad experience in claims and service includes site-operations management, multistate regulation compliance, homeowners insurance, litigation, physical damage and casualty.
Prior to joining CSAA Insurance Group as total loss manager in 2005, Hankins was regional office and West Coast call center branch manager for Amica Mutual Insurance Company.
Sullivan Names Slape Second-in-Command at Texas DOI
Insurance Commissioner Kent Sullivan promoted Doug Slape to second-in-command at the Texas Department of Insurance. Slape has been at the agency since 1988 and has served as deputy commissioner for the Financial Regulation Division the past three years.
As head of the Financial Regulation Division, Slape has overseen company licensing, solvency and market conduct examinations, and regulatory interventions to ensure the strength and stability of the Texas insurance market, which is the second largest in the nation and the ninth largest in the world.
Slape leads several National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) committees and is a governor of the Society of Financial Examiners. He is a certified financial examiner and a certified information systems auditor.
Jamie Walker will become deputy commissioner for the Financial Regulation Division. She has been with the agency since 2000, has extensive examinations experience, and has served as the division’s assistant deputy for almost three years. She is a certified financial examiner, is active on many NAIC financial committees.
Valen Analytics Appoints Ex-Farmers Exec to EVP of Applied Analytics
Valen Analytics, an Insurity company, and provider of proprietary data, analytics and predictive modeling for P/C insurers, announced the appointment of Donald Seibert as executive vice president of Applied Analytics. In this role, Seibert will oversee the services and analytics team, providing strong leadership and experience and delivering consulting services to Valen’s customers to more effectively implement and utilize analytics across their organizations.
Seibert brings more than 15 years of insurance industry experience to Valen, having most recently served as VP Service Line Leader for Underwriting at Genpact. Prior to Genpact, he spent over seven years at Farmers Insurance, where he was responsible for more than half a billion dollars in premium across Commercial Auto, Commercial Multi-Peril, and Workers Compensation lines of business. Seibert has held other previous leadership roles at OneBeacon Insurance, Progressive, and McKinsey.
