CRU Group Appoints VP for Southeast Region
CRU Group Adjusting Services, a Toronto-based independent adjusting firm with offices in the U.S. and Canada, has appointed Tim Lalaian as vice president for its Southeast Region.
Lalaian is responsible for CRU Group’s operational service delivery and client relationships across a multi-state territory, the company said.
Lalaian’s background includes a mix of both technical and client-facing experience for property and casualty insurers and transportation-related concerns, the company said. He was previously a vice president of sales and business development for Alternative Claims Services and was an account executive for Crawford & Co., according to his Linkedin page.
Lalaian and his family will remain based in metro Atlanta, CRU Group said. He will report directly to the company’s U.S. chief executive officer, David Repinski.
CRU Group announced in August it had appointed Repinski to lead an expansion of its U.S. claims operations. The adjusting arm of the firm is an affiliate to a London-headquartered business intelligence provider that specializes in commodoties.
ATF Medical Hires Rehab Consultant
ATF Medical, which provides comprehensive medical equipment and adaptive housing services to the workers’ compensation industry, has appointed Melissa Freeman as senior rehabilitation consultant.
Freeman analyzes durable medical equipment recommendations for injured workers, provides comprehensive explanations for ATF Medical’s solutions, and trains staff and clients, the company said in a press release.
Most recently, Freeman worked for Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation in Rome, Georgia, where she served as assistive work technology team lead. In addition to managing referrals and supervising assistive technology professionals, she conducted disability awareness training and consulted on job modification and accommodation cases, the company said. Before then, Freeman served as manager and a seating and mobility specialist for Northwest Regional Hospital, also in Rome.
Freeman holds several professional certifications, including the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology or North America’s Certified Assistive Technology Professional and Certified Ergonomics Specialist.

HomeCare Connect Hires National Account Manager
HomeCare Connect, a home health services, prosthetics and orthotics vendor for the workers’ compensation industry, announced the appointment of Lisa Maciolek as national account manager.
Maciolek is responsible for managing national client relationships and implementing new concepts and services, the Winter Park, Florida-based company said in a press release.
Maciolek previously worked with provider networks, case management, pharmacy, and Medicare set-set-aside services. She started her career with QRS Managed Care Services and remained with the organization for 26 years through a series of acquisitions, including by Healthcare Solutions and later Optum. Most recently, she served as assistant vice president, account management for Optum.
Maciolek holds a Master of Science degree from Chestnut Hill College in Pennsylvania and earned her bachelor’s at the University of Delaware. She is dedicated to giving back to her community, volunteering for hospice along with serving as a Professional Development Workshop Instructor, Perfect Fit for Women-YMCA, and a mentor with the Literacy Center-Allentown, the company said.
