CopperPoint Appoints Claims Chief
CopperPoint Insurance Cos. has appointed Kris Mathis as senior vice president and chief workers’ compensation claims officer.
Mathis will replace Ginny Arnett Caro, who plans to retire at the end of the year after 21 years with the Phoenix, Arizona-based workers’ compensation carrier.
Mathis joined CopperPoint when the carrier purchased PacificComp in 2018. He served in a variety of managerial and executive leadership positions in claims and field services for insurance carriers including Safeco, CompWest, SeaBright and Liberty Mutual Group.
Mathis will work side-by-side with Caro over the remainder of the year to ensure a smooth transition, CopperPoint said.
Mathis earned a bachelor’s degree in history from California State University, Fullerton and a Juris Doctor from Trinity Law School. He holds a Workers’ Compensation Claims Professional (WCCP) designation and a Self-Insured Administrators Certificate from the California Department of Industrial Relations, Office of Self Insurance Plans (OSIP). He is a past member of the Governing Committee of the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau (WCIRB) and currently serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the California Workers’ Compensation Institute (CWCI). He also serves on the Advisory Committee for Kid’s Chance of California.
Global Risk Solutions Hires Surveyor
Global Risk Solutions, an international claims adjuster headquartered in London, has appointed surveyor Chris Reeves to its team.
Reeves will support GRS’ multidisciplinary services to insurance companies as well as industrial clients, the company said in a press release. He will report to Chief Executive Officer Adam Humphrey.
Before joining GRS, Reeves worked in the construction sector and a leading international property and construction consulting firm, where he was responsible for delivering cost and valuation services on projects in various industry sectors.
Reeves is a Chartered Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a RICS-Qualified Mediator and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Sodoro Law Firm Hires Attorney
The Sodoro + Mooney + Lenaghan law firm in Omaha has added attorney Kalli P. Gloudemans to its insurance defense team.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Gloudemans received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She later attended the University of Nebraska College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree.
During her time in law school, Kalli completed a concentration in litigation skills, was a member of the University of Nebraska College of Law National Trial Team, and was nominated to the Order of the Barristers, a national honorary organization for law students who demonstrate exceptional skill in trial advocacy.
Gloudemans is licensed to practice law in Nebraska and Iowa. She serves as a board member of the Nebraska State Bar Association Workers’ Compensation section and is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association and Nebraska State Bar Association.
