Davies Appoints COO for US Division
Davies, a global claims administrator that opened a US headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee in 2020, has appointed Jen Morrissey to the newly created position of group chief operations officer.
Davies said Morrissey will assist in its “ambitious international growth plans.” She has been instrumental in leading companies through periods of expansion and has experience in mergers and acquisition integration and information technology transformation, the London-based company said in a press release.
Morrissey was previously chief information officer with Unison Risk Advisors. Before then she held technology roles with Willis Towers Watson,Davies said.
Morrissey will be based in the United States and report directly to group Chief Executive Officer Dan Saulter.
Davies announced a new organizational structure in February. The company has three business units: Global Solutions, United Kingdom and Ireland and Davies US.
Resilience Appoints Global Claims Chief
Resilience, a San Francisco-based cyber insurance and risk management provider, promoted Tom Egglestone to global head of claims.
Egglestone joined the company in July 2022 as international claims leader for the United Kingdom and Europe. For the past seven years, he had handled a number of the London market’s largest claims across a side range of jurisdictions and industries, the company said in a press release.
Egglestone previously held positions with Tokio Marine Kiln, CFC Underwriting and Hiscox, Resilience said. He has more than a decade of experience with complex specialty claims.
Clyde & Co. Appoints 2 Partners in Miami
Clyde & Co., a global law firm, has appointed Laura Besvinick and Julie Nevins as partners at its Miami office, expanding its offering of services to US insurers.
Both attorneys join the Clyde law firm from Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. They have experience litigation unique coverage and bad faith issues, the company said in a press release.
Besvinick has 40 years experience with complex commercial insurance cases in Florida state and federal courts across the United States, Clyde said. She works closely with insurers to provide claims-handling advice in real time to avoid disputes, the company said.
Nevins has litigated a wide range of complex insurance and commercial disputes in federal and state trial and appellate courts, Clyde said. Her practice spans numerous substantive areas including unfair competition, misrepresentation, fraud, real property, intellectual property, and breach of contract.
