Disaster Kleenup International, Inc., a provider of quality, independent property damage restoration contractors, announced that member company C&B Services of Port Neches, Tex. raised $7,800 for the American Red Cross Beaumont Chapter.
The donation is a result of the first annual Golf Classic “Swing for Disaster Relief” fund-raiser, held earlier this month at the Palms at Pleasure Island. C&B Services and the American Red Cross Beaumont Chapter announced earlier this year that they have teamed up as Community Disaster partners.
“Together C&B Services and the Red Cross create a natural partnership and we are proud to provide the community with a team that is experienced and equipped to handle any disaster,” said Troy Crochet, president of C&B Services. “Hosting this golf tournament to raise money was just another way we could help an organization that helps so many people here in southeast Texas and beyond.”
In 2002, the American Red Cross Beaumont Chapter responded locally to over 130 fires and the severe flooding the area experienced in October and December. On a national level, the Beaumont Chapter helps the American Red Cross Disaster Operations Center respond to 67,000 disasters annually. All Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by donations like the funds generated by this golf tournament. Over 120 people participated in the outing; C&B Services sponsored 10 players and also supplied 12 event volunteers.
“The partnership we’ve started with C&B is certainly a win-win relationship – we’ve expanded the capacity of our disaster relief team and C&B has the opportunity to help victims quickly after a disaster occurs,” said Jason Sellers, Executive Director for the American Red Cross Beaumont Chapter. “Our Red Cross chapter saw a 171 percent increase in disaster relief efforts over last year, so the funds raised as a result of this first golf tournament are very much appreciated. C&B did a fantastic job and we look forward to the success of future golf outings.”
C&B Services has provided insurance restoration services in the greater Houston area since 1995 and has been a part of the DKI network since 2001.
