A Multicounty Grand Jury indictment naming a former Tulsa, Okla. firefighter was unsealed last week in Tulsa County District Court, Attorney General Drew Edmondson said.
William Bradford Adams, 49, was indicted April 14 on one felony count of workers’ compensation fraud and one felony count of perjury for allegedly misleading his doctor about his injuries, and providing false testimony in support of his claim for workers’ comp benefits.
According to the indictment, Adams sought benefits for injuries to his neck and right elbow suffered while he was a captain with the Tulsa Fire Department. The indictment alleges Adams provided false information to his doctor “with the intent to defraud and deceive….”
The indictment also alleges Adams committed perjury in December 2002 when he “willfully, knowingly and falsely” provided testimony during a deposition in his case.
