Southwestern Insurance Information Service announced its 52nd Annual Conference will take place June 21-22, 2005, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
The event will begin with a golf outing on June 21 and afterward a welcome reception and dinner, followed by the day-long conference on June 22.
The Conference will offer five hours of Texas Department of Insurance CE credits and two hours of State Bar of Texas Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit.
The event will begin with a presentation by the Texas insurance commissioner.
Jim Oliver, general manager of the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association and the Texas FAIR Plan Association will bring attendees current of developments affecting these organizations. Will Curran, director, property treaty reinsurance team for Wellington in London will offer a perspective on “The Evolution of the Reinsurance Market in the U. S. and Texas.”
The luncheon speaker will be Les Janka, executive director, client services, for Strategic Forecasting, a Washington, D.C.-based business intelligence firm.
The day will conclude with a legislative panel moderated by James Langford, Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, and consisting of high-profile insurance government affairs representatives. Appearing on the panel will be Frank Galitski, Farmers Insurance; Bo Gilbert, Independent Insurance Agents of Texas; Jonna Kay Hamilton, Nationwide Insurance; Jo Betsy Norton, Allstate; Steve Patterson, State Farm; and Cyndi Taylor Krier, USAA.
