Investigators in Ada, Okla., are looking into a series of suspicious fires, including one that burned a door at the Ada Junior High School and filled the hallways with smoke.
Fire officials responded to a call about midnight Dec. 12 at the school and found a burning trash can pushed against a back door of the school. The fire was quickly extinguished.
Assistant Fire Chief Rick Ross says firefighters also responded to four suspicious grass fires on the city’s south side in a two-day period last week.
Arson also is suspected in a house fire that destroyed a home Wednesday night. Ada Fire Marshal Justin Priest says that blaze began in the garage of the home and quickly spread through the attic.
