Three powerful tornadoes touched down in Arkansas on March 10, damaging homes and injuring at least four people, Risk Management Solutions (RMS) has reported.
According to National Weather Service, the first of the three tornadoes occurred on March 10 at 6:30 p.m. CST, northwest of Benton in Saline County, Ark. The state Emergency Management Service reported the tornado damaged 22 homes.
At 8:25 p.m. CST a second tornado occurred near to Center Hill in White County, damaging nine homes and injuring one person.
A third tornado occurred near Pearson, in Cleburne County, shortly after 9:00 p.m. CST and reports indicate that several homes were badly damaged and at least three people have been injured.
Following the tornadoes, approximately 1,300 homes were without power.
The storms that produced the tornadoes also produced golf ball sized hail.
RMS said forecasts predict that given the El Nino winter in the U.S., there is potential for the tornado season to be extremely active.
