State and federal officials are reminding those affected by tornadoes and severe weather that tore through Atoka County, Oklahoma in April that the deadline to apply for disaster assistance is nearing.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management said that June 21 is the last day for homeowners, renters and business owners who had property damage to seek assistance and to return U.S. Small Business Administration loan applications.
A tornado ripped through Atoka County on April 14, killing two people in Tushka and damaging numerous homes and buildings in the town and the county.
Officials say disaster assistance may include grants to help pay for rent and home repairs, replace personal property and reimburse medical, storage and other expenses not covered by insurance.
