The U.S. Forest Service is warning hunters to be mindful of tornado damage.
Modern gun deer season opens on Saturday in Arkansas.
The Sentinel Record reports that tornadoes have moved through a number of areas since last year’s deer season ended.
In April, severe storms damaged trees across several thousand acres in the Ozark and St. Francis national forest. Dangling limbs can be a potentially fatal hazard.
The agency is also reminding hunters that ATVs have to stay on designated trails in national forest, though a kill can be removed from up to a half-mile from the designated paths.
