Authorities say a plant fire in St. James Parish, La., may have been sparked by lightning.
WAFB TV reports the Rain CII plant in Gramercy caught on fire around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. It is located near the Noranda Aluminum plant and is a part of the old Kaiser Aluminum plant.
Sheriff Willy Martin said the lightning from storms may have ignited the fire. The roof of the plant is made of wood. It caught fire and collapsed on top of a product stored in the facility known as calcined coke.
Martin said there were no reported injuries.
